Degree Planning Assistant is a proposed tool that would help students select the best schedule decisions, in order to complete their degree on time.
Example Program Output
After selecting a degree program, students would see a display like above that rates courses based on how often they are offered, the number of courses that list them as prerequisites, and other important, long term factors.

The assistant would use already existing University databases--its strength lies in its ability to aggregate information from multiple sources and display it in a useful format.
The assistant was designed for an Autumn 2002 Discrete Mathematical Modeling course (MATH 381) and was submitted as a proposal to UW Computing and Communications in June 2003.
